Golf Course Management:
Twenty years experience as a golf professional in both private and public
facilities; managed entire golf operations, including golf shop, driving range,
restaurant facilities, course maintenance. Recruited, supervised, and trained
all personnel. Responsible for
financial management, public relations, marketing, event coordination,
budgeting, and advertising. Supervised entire food service operation, including
budgeting, menu planning, catering, staffing. Responsible for recruitment,
development, and administration of competitive men's golf programs at Division
I schools.
Financial Management:
Prepared, administered, and managed all budget and financial records, including
payroll, purchasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budget and tax
forms.
Public Relations and Marketing: Created marketing promotions and advertising for course, club,
and events. Identified corporate and alumni contacts, negotiated with corporate
leaders to participate as professional tournament sponsors. Coordinated golf
outings and travel for athletic teams and alumni, promoted Men's and Women's
Golf Associations. Planned and administered tournaments and outings.
Responsible for buying all golf shop equipment and merchandise for resale.
Golf Course Construction: Responsible for start-up of new facility, including procurement
of all applicable licenses and fees, supervision of contract labor, design of
marketing and promotional materials, hiring and training of all personnel,
procurement of fixtures and merchandise for pro shop and restaurant. Also
responsible for the Design and monitoring restoration and remodeling of
existing clubhouse and changes in existing course layout.
Tournament Director:
Tournament Director of four Nike Tour events and the 1985 NCAA Golf
Championship. Initiated and organized ongoing club tournaments, corporate
outings, and collegiate tournaments.
Teaching Experience:
Coached at 3 NCAA Division I Schools, including the University of Oklahoma, the
University of Florida, and University of Iowa. Developed, coordinated and
conducted clinics and teaching programs for private club, public facility, and
collegiate student athletes Established and directed junior camps and summer
programs.
Fund Raising Experience:
Established, promoted and assisted with fund raising activities for collegiate
athletic teams and community organizations.
Playing Experience:
Played as a professional since 1977, on the European Tour, mini-tours, PGA
section events, and other tournaments.
